    There are several causes for diabetes, one of them is extra sleep. Oversleeping increases blood sugar levels, which in turn increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. 

    Oversleeping during the day and long periods of sleep have a special relationship with increased risk of developing type-2 diabetes, according to a recent study. The UK-based public health and medical journal Lancet Global Health reported in a report that in 2017, about 31,460 people died because of diabetes in Bangladesh. It is feared that the number of deaths due to this disease may increase to 69,650 in 2040. That means diabetes will cause twice as many deaths as it does now. 

    Weight gain

    Are you worried that you are getting fat day by day? Dieting or exercising is not helping? Think about it, are you sleeping extra? Because Oversleeping plays a special role in increasing obesity. Just as sleep deprivation can cause this problem, excessive sleeping can do the same as well. Many people fall asleep right after eating, which can lead to weight gain and stomach gastric problems. Sleeping more cause less body movement, resulting in less calorie loss, which leads to the accumulation of excess fat in the body. 

    Depression

    Excessive sleep disrupts your specific sleep cycle. If you sleep too much during the day, you cannot sleep well at night and if you stay awake at night like this, it will gradually push you towards depression. 

    According to a 2014 study, prolonged sleep can lead to other problems as well as depressive symptoms in humans. The study found that those who slept 9 hours or more had a 49 percent increased risk of depression. 

    Heart problems

    The heart is a very important part of the human body. Earlier it was seen that only middle-aged people were affected by heart disease. Now the elderly, as well as young people, are suffering from various types of heart attacks. 
    But surprisingly, too much sleep can be a cause of heart problems. Doctors have said so after research. Excessive sleep can cause heart problems. 

    According to a 2012 study by the American College of Cardiology, regular sleep for more than eight hours increases the risk of heart problems. Studies have shown that over 3,000 people who sleep excessively are twice as likely to suffer from angina and coronary artery disease as those who sleep excessively. 

    The brain and memory become weak

    For those who sleep excessively, their brains gradually weaken. And a weak brain reduces our creativity. So, it is very important to be careful about excessive sleep. More than nine hours of continuous sleep can weaken your brain and memory. May suffer from Alzheimer’s or disease like Dementia. Another 2012 study found that too little or too much sleep reduced the brain's ability to function. People's memories are created during sleep, especially during light sleep. But continuous long-term sleep hinders that process. So, the chances of getting this kind of disease become high. 

    Decreased performance and disease resistance

    Doctors say that a person needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night so that his body and mind can be functional the next day. But Oversleeping can reduce a person's energy and work ethic. Several scientific studies have also shown that Excessive sleep gradually weakens a person's immune system. Because of that, it doesn't have the ability to prevents them from developing any of the major and minor diseases and reduces their physical strength. 

    In addition to the above problems, excessive sleep can lead to other problems such as lethargy, reduced life expectancy, reduced fertility in women, migraine problems, body aches, irritable mood, high blood pressure, and high blood cholesterol. Excessive sleep also destroys your body's natural body defenses. So, you understand how much health risks you may face as a result of sleeping too much. So, if you want to live a healthy life, say “no” to the Oversleeping from today!
